AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand Dollars
($168,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the
construction of storm sewers in Arlee & Hoffmeister Storm Sewer (10389) in Unincorporated St.
Louis County, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on
behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Fred M. Luth &
Sons, Inc. for the aforesaid construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for the aforesaid construction is One Hundred Fifty Two
Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($152,375,000.00), and the allowance
for construction change orders and other project expenses is Fifteen Thousand Six Hundred
Twenty-Five Dollars ($15,625.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand Dollars
($168,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project
costs for the construction of storm sewers in Arlee & Hoffmeister Storm Sewer (10389) in
Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with
Fred M. Luth & Sons, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of storm sewers
in Arlee & Hoffmeister Storm Sewer (10389) in Unincorporated St. Louis County Missouri;
pursuant to bids received and opened on the 12th day of April 2011.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 9, 2011.
