HomeMy Public PortalAbout13406ORDINANCE NO. 13406 AN ORDINANCE, authorizing and directing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to lease certain real property of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, lying in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, to Boxes, Inc. for use as a parking lot and to execute and deliver a Lease Agreement upon the conditions hereinafter set out. WHEREAS, the District owns certain real property in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and Boxes, Inc. has leased a strip of said real property and desires to continue to lease said real property from the District for use as a parking lot, and WHEREAS, the District is willing to renew and continue such a lease, and believes it to be advantageous and in the public interest to do so. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is hereby authorized to lease to Boxes, Inc. upon the general terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, the following described real property: A tract of land in River des Peres Drainage Works Right-of-Way as established by Ordinance Nos. 32986, 32975 and 32950 as amended by Ordinance No. 39950, and being in City Block 6482, City of St. Louis, Missouri and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the easternmost corner of Lot 18 of Manchester Industrial Park, a subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 33, Page 34 of the City of St. Louis Recorder's Office; said point being in the North line of Knox Industrial Drive, 50 feet wide; thence eastwardly along said North line of Knox Industrial Drive, 50 feet wide, a distance of 231 feet to a point; thence northwardly and at right angles to said North line, a distance of 10 feet to a point; thence westwardly along a line being 10 feet northwardly of and parallel with said North line of Knox Industrial Drive, 50 feet wide, a distance of 231 feet to a point; thence southwardly and at right angles to said North line, a distance of 10 feet to the point of beginning. Section Two. The lease shall be for an original term of five (5) years, commencing the first day of July, 2012, with an option whereby Lessee may renew said lease for an additional five (5) years, at the rental of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per month during the original term and One Hundred Fifty-seven and 50/100 Dollars ($157.50) per month during the renewal term. Section Three. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver on behalf of the District a Lease Agreement giving effect to Sections One and Two hereof, and embodying such other terms and conditions as approved by the Office of General Counsel of the District. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 14, 2012.
