AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million Eight Hundred Seventy Thousand
Dollars ($1,870,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the
construction of storm sewers in Tower Grove - Manchester Combined Sewer System Phase II
(Tower Grove Place Storm Relief Sewers) (10777) in The City of St. Louis, Missouri; and
authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan
St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Gershenson Construction Co., Inc. for the
aforesaid construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for the aforesaid construction is One Million Three Hundred
Seventy Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($1,375,700.00), and the allowance for construction
change orders and other project expenses is Four Hundred Ninety Four Thousand Three Hundred
Dollars ( $494,300.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million Eight Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars
($1,870,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for
project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Tower Grove - Manchester Combined Sewer
System Phase II (Tower Grove Place Storm Relief Sewers) (10777) in The City of St. Louis,
Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with
Gershenson Construction Co., Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of storm
sewers in Tower Grove - Manchester Combined Sewer System Phase II (Tower Grove Place
Storm Relief Sewers) (10777) in The City of St. Louis Missouri; pursuant to bids received and
opened on the 16th day of October, 2012.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted on January 10, 2013.
