AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Six Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($6,750,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund and Three Hundred Fifty
Thousand Dollars ($350,000.00) from the Operations, Maintenance, Construction Improvement
Fund of University City to be used for project costs for sanitary sewer construction and private
I/I removal in UR-10 Mendell and Wolter Sanitary Relief (SKME-595) (10027), in the Cities of
Vinita Park and University City, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract
No. 20263 with J.H. Berra Construction Co., Inc. for the aforesaid sanitary sewer construction
and private I/I removal.
WHEREAS, the bid for said sanitary sewer construction and private I/I removal is
Six Million Five Hundred Eleven Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-Five Dollars ($6,511,655.00) and
the allowance for construction change orders and other project expenses is Five Hundred Eighty-
Eight Thousand Three Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($588,345.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named funds sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Six Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($6,750,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund and Three Hundred
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350,000.00) from the Operations, Maintenance, Construction
Improvement Fund of University City to be used for project costs for sanitary sewer construction
and private I/I removal in UR-10 Mendell and Wolter Sanitary Relief (SKME-595) (10027), in
the Cities of Vinita Park and University City, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract
No. 20263 with J.H. Berra Construction Co., Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for sanitary
sewer construction and private I/I removal in UR-10 Mendell and Wolter Sanitary Relief
(SKME-595) (10027), in the Cities of Vinita Park and University City, Missouri, pursuant to
bids received and opened on the 16th day of April 2015.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted on June 16, 2015 by the following vote –
Ayes –M. Yates, J. Faul, R. Berry, A. Mandel, V. Patton and R. Bonner.
