AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000.00) from the
Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for sanitary sewer construction at Infrastructure Repair
#087P Caulks Creek A (P-750) Phase VI (10656), in the Cities of Chesterfield and Maryland
Heights, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 20272 with Bates Utility
Company, Inc., for the construction of the aforesaid sanitary sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the sanitary sewer construction is Four Million Eight
Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred One Dollars ($4,847,501.00) and the allowance
for change orders and other project costs is One Hundred Fifty-Two Thousand Four Hundred
Ninety-Nine Dollars ($152,499.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000.00) is hereby
appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for sanitary sewer construction at
Infrastructure Repair #087P Caulks Creek A (P-750) Phase VI (10656), in the Cities of
Chesterfield and Maryland Heights, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract
No. 20272 with Bates Utility Company, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder for the sanitary
sewer construction at Infrastructure Repair #087P Caulks Creek A (P-750) Phase VI (10656), in
the Cities of Chesterfield and Maryland Heights, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened
on the 24th day of April 2015.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted on June 16, 2015 by the following vote –
Ayes –M. Yates, J. Faul, R. Berry, A. Mandel, V. Patton and R. Bonner.
