The Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session Tuesday, February
4, 1969 at 7:35 P. M.

All members present.
The minutes of the meeting of January 7, 1969 read. Moved by Raymond Bosch
that the minutes be approved as read.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter
Motion carried.
The minutes of the special meeting of January 14, 1969 read. Moved by Rayburn
Anderson that the minutes be approved as read.
Seconded by Arthur Theis
Motion carried.
The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of January 21, 1969 read.
The petition for water by Don Des Lauri.ers was read. Moved by Rayburn Anderson
to accept the petition for water submitted by Don Des Lauriers.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.
Motion carried.
John Willegalla appeared with regard to the fact that some of his fencing
was knocked down during snow removal. He was advised to report the damage
when the snow melts in spring.
Discussion with regard to advertising for bids for grading, gravel and road
oil. Moved by Harold Winterhalter that we authorize the Clerk to advertise
for road grading bids, for gravel bids and for road oil bids.

Discussion of liquor license fee. Moved by Rayburn Anderson that we amend
our license ordinance to increase the fee for on -sale liquor from t1500.00
per year to $1800.00 per year, effective Jtly 1, 1969.

Motion carried.
Moved by Raymond Bosch that we re -appoint Everett Thies for another three year
term on the Planning Commission, effective March 1, 1969 to March 1, 1972.

Motion carried.
The appointment for the replacement of Jim Adams was tabled to the March meeting.
Moved by Harold Winterhalter to issue a 1969 Outdoor Theater license to
the Jeff -Jon Rob Amusement Company
Seconded by Arthur Theis.

Moved by Rayburn Anderson to grant a 1969 license to the Boyer Sanitary
Landfill Company.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.

Moved by Raymond Bosch to grant ciggrette license iow1969 to Fred Glampe of
Glampe's Resort and Cafe, C. W. Yates df Yates Apto Service and Robert Feser
of Medina Golf Course.

Motion carried.
Al-plicationsfor road supervisor were opened. Two were received, onefrom
Leo Leuer and one from William Rudolph. Moved by Raybutn Anderson to set up
a special meeting for Friday evening, February 7th, at 7:00 P. M. for the
purpose of interviewing the two road supervisor applicants.

William T. Mills reported on the Brookview road and on the sewer and water
project, also discussed assessOnt policies. He also discussed.a letter
from Pittsburgh-DesMoines with regard to the t„nk, and letters from
Bergerson-Caswell with regard to the well. He also discussed letter which
he had written to Nate Chessler of the Brookview Country Club.
Moved by Harold Winterhalter that we set a cut-off date for water and sewer
petitions for extended service to March 15th or April 1st, if 100 signatures.

Moved by Harold Winterhalter to adopt the following -resolution: Whereas,
the report of the Southwest Sanitary Sewer District is, in our opinion,
vague and lacking in information, particularly overall cost and assessment
policies, the Council of the Village of Medina hereby resolves: That the
Village of Medina wishes not to participate, or take a position on participation
in the Southwest Sanitary Sewer District until such time as information
clarifying these questions is available to us.

The Clerk was instructed to write the County Park with regard to renewal of
the policing contract, stating that due to the fact that the part time
policemen's salary has been raised from $2.50 to 13.00 per hour, plus
insurance and PERA costs, we will have to increase the park fee to 14.00
per hour for the patrolmen. The cost for the patrol car will remain
the same.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson to authorize the Village Clerk to issue a check for
710.00 to the Northwest Suburban Chamber of Commerce to renew our membership
for 1969.

Moved by Harold Winterhalter for the aoption of a resolution giving the
County the authority to sell the tax forfeited land designated as "643C"
in the Village of Medina.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.
Council polled. Harold Winterhalter, no; Raymond Bosch, no;
Rayburn Anderson, no; Arthur Theis, no; and Wayne Neddermeyer, no.
Motion lost.

Moved by, Raymond Bosch to aflopt the Resolution to pass .the ordinance for naming
the streets in the Village of Medina.

Moved by Raymond Bosch to pay the bills as follows: Payroll in the amount of
2292.84 and order checks in the gmount of 865,961.13.

A letter from the Lake Minnetonka Snowmobile Association was read.
Announcement of the Hennepin County League of Municipalities meeting,
February 6th at 8 P. M. at Crystal Municipal Bldg;., 4141 Douglas Drive
No., Crystal.
Notice of extention of time for installing the signal lights on Soo Line
crossing 12 miles. east of Loretto to May 5, 1969 received from the Minnesojza
Department of Service, was read.
Bescussion of the building permit fees was postponed to the March 4th meeting.
Moved by Raymond Bosch that the meeting adjourn.
