AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Three Hundred Thousand Dollars
($300,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for construction costs for sanitary
sewer construction and private I/I removal in Lynkirk Study Area I/I Reduction (11651) in the
City of Kirkwood, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on
behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 20300 with Bates
Utility Company, Inc., for the aforesaid sanitary sewer construction and private I/I removal.
WHEREAS, the bid for said sanitary sewer construction and private I/I removal is
Two Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand One Hundred Nineteen Dollars ($257,119.00) and the
allowance for construction change orders and other project expenses is Forty-Two Thousand
Eight Hundred Eighty-One Dollars ($42,881.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00) is
hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for sanitary sewer construction and
private I/I removal in Lynkirk Study Area I/I Reduction (11651) in the City of Kirkwood,
Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract
No. 20300 with Bates Utility Company, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder for sanitary sewer
construction and private I/I removal in Lynkirk Study Area I/I Reduction (11651) in the City of
Kirkwood, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 24th day of July 2015.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
This foregoing ordinance was adopted September 10, 2015.
