AN ORDINANCE, making an appropriation of Three Million Nine Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($3,900,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for storm
sewer construction in Harlem – Baden Relief Phase IV (Hebert) (Improvements from Basin to
Hamilton Trunk) (11770) in the City of St. Louis, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive
Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into Contract No. 20667 with Bates Utility Company, Inc. for storm sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said storm sewer construction is Eight Million One
Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars ($8,124,995.00) and the
allowance for construction change orders and other project expenses is Two Million One
Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Five Dollars ($2,175,005.00);
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation request is planned for Fiscal Year 2018
(FY2018) for Six Million Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($6,400,000.00), providing a total
appropriation amount of Ten Million Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($10,300,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Three Million Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars
($3,900,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for storm sewer
construction in Harlem – Baden Relief Phase IV (Hebert) (Improvements from Basin to
Hamilton Trunk) (11770) in the City of St. Louis, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No.
20667 with Bates Utility Company, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder for storm sewer
construction in Harlem – Baden Relief Phase IV (Hebert) (Improvements from Basin to
Hamilton Trunk) (11770) in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 21st
day of April, 2017.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing ordinance was adopted on June 8, 2017.
