AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Two Million Four Hundred Thousand Dollars
($2,400,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for private I/I removal and
storm sewer construction in University City I/I Reduction – East (Hanley Hills and Bel-Nor)
(11991) in the Cities of Vinita Park, Charlack, Bel-Nor, University City, Wellston, Pagedale,
Vinita Terrace, and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive
Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into Contract No. 21353 with J.M. Marschuetz Construction for the aforesaid private I/I removal
and storm sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said private I/I removal and storm sewer construction is
Two Million Ninety-Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-Six Dollars ($2,097,836.00) and the
allowance for construction change orders and other project expenses is Three Hundred Two
Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Four Dollars ($302,164.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Two Million Four Hundred Thousand Dollars
($2,400,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for private I/I
removal and storm sewer construction in University City I/I Reduction – East (Hanley Hills and
Bel-Nor) (11991) in the Cities of Vinita Park, Charlack, Bel-Nor, University City, Wellston,
Pagedale, Vinita Terrace, and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri; said contract being
comprised of such terms and conditions as have been approved by the Office of the General
Counsel of the District.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract
No. 21353 with J.M. Marschuetz Construction, as the lowest responsible bidder for private I/I
removal and storm sewer construction in University City I/I Reduction – East (Hanley Hills and
Bel-Nor) (11991) in the Cities of Vinita Park, Charlack, Bel-Nor, University City, Wellston,
Pagedale, Vinita Terrace, and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to bids
received on the 20th day of September, 2017.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing ordinance was adopted on November 9, 2017.
