AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Two Hundred Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars
($265,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance, Construction, and Improvement Fund of
Meramec River Basin Subd. #449 to be used for sanitary sewer construction in Grand Glaize
WWTF Flood Protection Improvements (12830) in the City of Valley Park, Missouri; and
authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan
St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 21573 with Gershenson Construction Co. for
the aforesaid sanitary sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said sanitary sewer construction is Two Hundred Forty
Thousand Dollars ($240,000.00) and the allowance for construction change orders and other
project expenses is Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Two Hundred Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars
($265,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation, Maintenance, Construction, and
Improvement Fund of Meramec River Basin Subd. #449 for sanitary sewer construction in Grand
Glaize WWTF Flood Protection Improvements (12830) in the City of Valley Park, Missouri;
said contract being comprised of such terms and conditions as have been approved by the Office
of the General Counsel of the District.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract
No. 21573 with Gershenson Construction Co., as the lowest responsible bidder for sanitary sewer
construction in Grand Glaize WWTF Flood Protection Improvements (12830) in the City of
Valley Park, Missouri, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 20th day of October, 2017.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing ordinance was adopted on December 14, 2017.
