AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Two Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars
($290,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for sanitary sewer construction in
Harrison Sanitary Relief (Grand Ave to W Rose Hill Ave) (12298) in the City of Kirkwood,
Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 21630 with Bates Utility
Company, Inc. for the aforesaid sanitary sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said sanitary sewer construction is Two Hundred Sixty-
Five Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars ($265,495.00) and the allowance for
construction change orders and other project expenses is Twenty-Four Thousand Five Hundred
Five Dollars ($24,505.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Two Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars ($290,000.00)
is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for sanitary sewer construction in
Harrison Sanitary Relief (Grand Ave to W Rose Hill Ave) (12298) in the City of Kirkwood,
Missouri; said contract being comprised of such terms and conditions as have been approved by
the Office of the General Counsel of the District.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract
No. 21630 with Bates Utility Company, Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder for sanitary sewer
construction in Harrison Sanitary Relief (Grand Ave to W Rose Hill Ave) (12298) in the City of
Kirkwood, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 28th day of November, 2017.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
This foregoing Ordinance was adopted on February 15, 2018.
