AN ORDINANCE, making an appropriation of Seven Million Dollars
($7,000,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for sanitary sewer construction
in Upper Maline Trunk Sanitary Relief Phase IV Section B (11791) in the Cities of Berkeley,
Kinloch, and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director
and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into
Contract No. 21645 with J & J Boring, Inc. for sanitary sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said sanitary sewer construction is Nine Million Seven
Hundred Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty-Six and 40/100 Dollars ($9,709,886.40) and the
allowance for construction change orders and other project expenses is Six Hundred Ninety
Thousand One Hundred Thirteen and 60/100 Dollars ($690,113.60);
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation request is planned for Fiscal Year 2019
(FY2019) for a total appropriation amount of Ten Million Four Hundred Thousand Dollars
($10,400,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Seven Million Dollars ($7,000,000.00) is hereby
appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for sanitary sewer construction in Upper
Maline Trunk Sanitary Relief Phase IV Section B (11791) in the Cities of Berkeley, Kinloch, and
Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri; said contract being comprised of such terms and
conditions as have been approved by the Office of the General Counsel of the District.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No.
21645 with J & J Boring, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for sanitary sewer construction in
Upper Maline Trunk Sanitary Relief Phase IV Section B (11791) in the Cities of Berkeley,
Kinloch, and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 8th
day of February, 2018.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing ordinance was adopted on May 10, 2018.
