AN ORDINANCE, making an appropriation of Four Million Dollars
($4,000,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for sanitary sewer construction
in 82nd Street to I-170 Sanitary Relief (UR-08, UR-09) (11993) in the Cities of University City
and Olivette, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf
of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 21758 with J. H. Berra
Construction Co., Inc. for sanitary sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said sanitary sewer construction is Eight Million Six
Hundred Seventy-Four Thousand Eighteen Dollars ($8,674,018.00) and the allowance for
construction change orders and other project expenses is Four Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand
Nine Hundred Eighty-Two Dollars ($425,982.00);
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation request is planned for Fiscal Year 2020
(FY2020) for a total appropriation amount of Nine Million One Hundred Thousand Dollars
($9,100,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRIC T:
Section One. The sum of Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00) is hereby
appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for sanitary sewer construction in 82nd Street
to I-170 Sanitary Relief (UR-08, UR-09) (11993) in the Cities of University City and Olivette,
Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No.
21758 with J. H. Berra Construction Co., Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder for sanitary sewer
construction in 82nd Street to I-170 Sanitary Relief (UR-08, UR-09) (11993) in the Cities of
University City and Olivette, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 22nd day of January,
2019.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted on March 14, 2019.
