APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AFFORDABLE HOUSING AGREEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret desires to provide additional affordable housing
opportunities with available second generation CDBG and RCA Funds; and
WHEREAS, the Pershing Avenue Commons Project is in need of assistance with the
provision of its affordable housing component; and
WHEREAS, the Carteret Housing Authority is in need of is need of funding for capital
improvements to its affordable housing units; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret wish to enter into
agreements to provide second generation funding assistance to help meet this affordable
housing need. .
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Borough of Carteret as follows
I. The Borough hereby agrees to contribute $54,940.38 of second generation
affordable housing funds to the Pershing Avenue Commons Project and
$59,775.80 of capital improvement funding to the Carteret Housing
Authority.
2. The Borough's Law Director is hereby authorized and directed to enter
into agreements with the respective entities, in a form acceptable to the
Law Director, for the purposes of providing said affordable housing
assistance.
