O R D I N A N C E NO. 10404
AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Hundred Ninety-four Thousand
Dollars ($194,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement
Fund of Sugar Creek for a portion of the project costs for the construction of storm
sewers in Infrastructure Repair #040 (West Essex and Goethe Avenue) 92001, in the
City of Kirkwood, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Karsten Equipment Company for the aforesaid construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for the aforesaid storm sewers is Three Hundred
Three Thousand Five Hundred Forty Dollars ($303,540.00), and the allowance for
construction change orders is Sixteen Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Dollars
($16,460.00), and
WHEREAS, the remaining One Hundred Twenty-six Thousand Dollars
($126,000.00) of said construction costs over and above the amount as herein
appropriated shall be supplied from the Maintenance Department Budget as previously
appropriated, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:

Section One. The sum of One Hundred Ninety-four Thousand Dollars
($194,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of Sugar Creek for a portion of the project costs for
the construction of storm sewers in Infrastructure Repair #040 (West Essex and Goethe
Avenue) 92001, in the City of Kirkwood, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Karsten Equipment Company as the lowest responsible bidder for the
construction of storm sewers in Infrastructure Repair #040 (West Essex and Goethe)
92001, in the City of Kirkwood, Missouri, with The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District, pursuant to bids received opened on the 15th day of June, 1998.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall
take effect immediately upon its enactment.
