AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million Three Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($1,300,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project
costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Upper Coldwater Sanitary Relief
Section D (I-70 to Guthrie) Phase II (91094B), in the Cities of Woodson Terrace and
Berkeley, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on
behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with J.H.
Berra Construction Company, Inc. for the construction of the aforesaid sanitary sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said sanitary sewers is One
Million Two Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($1,230,000.00), and the allowance for
construction change orders is Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million Three Hundred Thousand Dollars
($1,300,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used
for project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Upper Coldwater Sanitary
Relief Section D (I-70 to Guthrie) Phase II (91094B), in the Cities of Woodson Terrace
and Berkeley, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with J.H. Berra Construction Company, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder
for the construction of sanitary sewers in Upper Coldwater Creek Sanitary Relief
Section D (I-70 to Guthrie) Phase II (91094B), in the Cities of Woodson Terrace and
Berkeley, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 15th day of July,
1998.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall
take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 10, 1998 by the following vote –
Ayes – C.L. Barnhart, P.P. Finn, C.D. Seward, M.C. Williams, and G. J. Sheffield.
Nays – None.
