ORDINANCE NO. 67 -219
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
AMENDING THE FIRST PARAGRAPH OF SECTION
6300 OF THE TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO BUSINESS LICENSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section 6300 of the
Temple City Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 6300. License Reauired.
There are hereby imposed upon -the businesses,
trades, professions, callings and occupations
specified in this Article license taxes in the
amounts hereinafter prescribed. It shall be unlaw-
ful for any person to transact and carry on any
business, trade, profession, calling or occupation
in the City of Temple City without first having
procured a license from said City so to do or with-
out complying with any and all applicable provisions
of this Article. This section shall not be construed
to require any person to obtain a license prior to
doing business within the City if such reauirement
conflicts with applicable statutes of the United
States or of the State of California. Any public
utility operating within the City of Temple City
under a franchise or franchises from said City and
making franchise payments thereunder, is subject
to the provisions of this Article only to the extent
that such utility engages in retail merchandising
within said City not covered by franchise.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
once in the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general circul-
ation, printed, published and circulated in the City of
Temple City.
