AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Four Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars
($430,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund
of the Seminary Branch of River des Peres to be used for project costs for the
construction of storm sewers in Innisfail Storm Channel Phase I (88041), in the City of
Webster Groves, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Gershenson Construction Company, Inc. for the construction of the
aforesaid storm sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said storm sewers is Four
Hundred Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty-Six and 30/100 Dollars ($408,886.30),
and the allowance for construction change orders is Twenty-One Thousand One
Hundred Thirteen and 70/100 Dollars ($21,113.70), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Four Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars
($430,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of the Seminary Branch of River des Peres to be used
for project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Innisfail Storm Channel Phase
2
I (88041), in the City of Webster Groves, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Gershenson Construction Company, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder
for the construction of storm sewers in Innisfail Storm Channel Phase I (88041), in the
City of Webster Groves, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 16th
day of November, 1998.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance,
shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted January 14, 1999 by the following vote –
Ayes – C. D. Seward, P.P. Finn, J.W. Siscel, and M.C. Williams.
Nays – None.
