AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($450,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund
of the University City Branch of River des Peres to be used for project costs for the
construction of storm sewers in Archer-Braddock-Coolidge-Grant Storm Channel Phase
II (96054), in the City of University City, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive
Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to enter into a contract with Gershenson Construction Co., Inc. for the
construction of the aforesaid storm sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said storm sewers is Four
Hundred Nineteen Thousand One Hundred Seventy-three and 80/100 Dollars
($419,173.80), and the allowance for construction change orders is Thirty Thousand
Eight Hundred Twenty-six and 20/100 Dollars ($30,826.20), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($450,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of the University City Branch of River des Peres to be
used for project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Archer-Braddock-Coolidge-
Grant Storm Channel Phase II (96054), in the City of University City, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Gershenson Construction Co., Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for
the construction of storm sewers in Archer-Braddock-Coolidge-Grant Storm Channel
Phase II (96054), in the City of University City, Missouri, pursuant to bids received
and opened on the 16th day of December, 1998.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall
take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted February 11, 1999 by the following vote –
Ayes – C.L. Barnhart, P.P. Finn, C.D. Seward, M.C. Williams, and G. J. Sheffield.
Nays – None.
