AN ORDINANCE, appropriating a total of Nine Hundred Seventy-five
Thousand Dollars ($975,000.00), to be funded as follows: Five Hundred Sixty-five
Thousand Dollars ($565,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction
Improvement Fund of Maline Creek, and Four Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars
($410,000.00) from the Improvement Fund, to be used for project costs for the
construction of cellular concrete block mat channel lining, sheet pile cutoff walls, and
appurtenances in Maline Creek Bank Stabilization (98059), in the City of Bellefontaine
Neighbors, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer
on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with
Gershenson Construction Company, Inc. for the construction of the aforesaid
construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said cellular concrete block mat
channel lining, sheet pile cutoff walls, and appurtenances is Nine Hundred Twenty-
eight Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty-seven and 30/100 Dollars ($928,787.30), and
the allowance for construction change orders is Forty-six Thousand Two Hundred
Twelve and 70/100 Dollars ($46,212.70), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The total sum of Nine Hundred Seventy-five Thousand
Dollars ($975,000.00) to be funded as follows: Five Hundred Sixty-five Thousand
Dollars ($565,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement
Fund of Maline Creek, and Four Hundred Ten Thousand Dollars ($410,000.00) from
the Improvement Fund, is hereby appropriated to be used for project costs for the
construction of cellular concrete block mat channel lining, sheet pile cutoff walls, and
appurtenances in Maline Creek Bank Stabilization (98059), in the City of Bellefontaine
Neighbors, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Gershenson Construction Company, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder
for the construction of cellular concrete block mat channel lining, sheet pile cutoff
walls, and appurtenances in Maline Creek Bank Stabilization (98059), in the City of
Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 23rd
day of August, 1999.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall
take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 14, 1999 by the following vote –
Ayes – C.L. Barnhart, P.P. Finn, C.D. Seward, J.W. Siscel, and M.C. Williams.
Nays – None.
