HomeMy Public PortalAbout10880 O R D I N A N C E NO. 10880 AN ORDINANCE, accepting the certified results of the general election of November 7, 2000, at which The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District sponsored four propositions. WHEREAS, on the 20th day of July, 2000, the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District did adopt Ordinance No. 10799, authorizing the District=s participation in the general election of November 7, 2000 to approve four propositions to amend the District=s governing plan, and WHEREAS, said election was duly held on the aforesaid 7th day of November, 2000 by the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, Missouri, respectively, and WHEREAS, the ballots furnished for and used at said special election were in substantially the form as set forth in the aforesaid Ordinance No. 10799, as adopted by this Board, and WHEREAS, said Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, on the 17th day of November, 2000, did certify to this Board of Trustees the results of the aforesaid election, and WHEREAS, said Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, Missouri, on the 17th day of November, 2000, did certify to this Board of Trustees the results of the aforesaid election, and WHEREAS, this Board of Trustees has now canvassed the returns of said election, as certified by the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, Missouri, respectively, and WHEREAS, it appears upon said canvass, that in said election, the votes in the City of St. Louis, Missouri were cast as follows: PROPOSITION MSD1 YES 62,124 NO 32,549 TOTAL 94,673 PROPOSITION MSD2 YES 64,160 NO 24,996 TOTAL 89,156 PROPOSITION MSD3 YES 63,275 NO 26,932 TOTAL 90,207 PROPOSITION MSD4 YES 71,492 NO 26,579 TOTAL 98,071 and, 3 WHEREAS, it appears upon said canvass, that in said election, the votes in St. Louis County, Missouri were cast as follows: PROPOSITION MSD1 YES 252,681 NO 152,142 TOTAL 404,823 PROPOSITION MSD2 YES 295,829 NO 113,498 TOTAL 409,327 PROPOSITION MSD3 YES 283,813 NO 120,081 TOTAL 403,894 PROPOSITION MSD4 YES 274,558 NO 120,136 TOTAL 394,694 and, WHEREAS, more than one-half of all of the votes cast on the aforesaid propositions were cast in favor thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The propositions as submitted to the qualified electors 4 in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and St. Louis County, Missouri, as set forth more particularly in said Ordinance No. 10799, at a general election held on the 7th day of November, 2000, were assented to by more than one-half of the qualified electors of the District voting on said propositions in said election, the total vote on said propositions having been cast as follows: PROPOSITION MSD1 YES 314,805 NO 184,691 TOTAL 499,496 PROPOSITION MSD2 YES 359,989 NO 138,494 TOTAL 498,483 PROPOSITION MSD3 YES 347,088 NO 147,013 TOTAL 494,101 PROPOSITION MSD4 YES 346,050 NO 146,715 TOTAL 492,765 The Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District hereby accepts the results of said election, as certified by the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and the Board of Election Commissioners of St. 5 Louis County, Missouri, respectively, which authorize the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enact and implement the amendments to the Plan of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District as set forth in the aforesaid propositions. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 14, 2000 by the following vote - Ayes – T.W. Purcell, M.G. Reichert, M.C. Williams, C.D. Seward, and P.P. Finn. Nays – None. Secretary-Treasurer
