To Whom It May Concern,
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) was formed under the provisions of
Section 30 of Article VI of the Constitution of Missouri for the purpose of providing and
operating adequate sewer and drainage facilities in the interest of public health. As such,
we provide an essential public service. MSD relies on the goods and services provided
by your organization to fulfill these duties.
As of March 18, 2020, the President of the United States has issued a nationwide
emergency declaration, providing “regulatory relief for commercial motor vehicle
operations providing direct assistance in support of emergency relief efforts related to the
COVID-19 outbreaks, including transportation to meet immediate needs for supplies and
equipment necessary for community safety, sanitation, and prevention of community
transmission of COVID-19.”
MSD believes that the goods and services that your organization provides is essential for
our operations and the delivery & performance of said goods and services complies with
the aforementioned emergency declaration.
All of us at MSD are committed to the health of our community. We encourage all MSD
suppliers and contractors to follow Center for Disease Control best practices to help
mitigate the possibly of contracting COVID-19 while working at MSD facilities.
