A RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR WATER TOWER TO
MAGUIRE IRON, INC.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa.
That the Bid of Maguire Iron, Inc. in the amount of $1,153,900.00 for the construction of
the Water Tower described in the plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council
after public hearing, be and is hereby accepted, as the lowest responsible bid received, and a
contract is hereby awarded.
The contractor is hereby instructed to promptly execute the construction contract and
return the same to the City Administrator /Clerk along with all the supporting documents required
therein, including surety bonds covering work to be performed and proof of satisfactory
insurance coverage, and any other contract compliance documents.
ON THE 26th day of September, 2012, at a special meeting of the Tiffin City Council,
Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced A RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF
CONTRACT FOR WATER TO MAGUIRE IRON, INC., and made a motion for approval.
The motion was seconded by Councilperson Upton.
Ayes: Ryan, Upton, Bartels
Nays: none
Motion carried.
WHEREUPON, the Mayor declared that the A RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF
CONTRACT FOR WATER TO MAGUIRE IRON, INC., be adopted and signified his
approval of the same by affixing his signature hereto.
PASSED, by the Council on the 26th day of September 2012, and approved by the Mayor on the
26th day of September 2012.
