A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DESIGNATE VOTING MEMBERS FOR THE
INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY OF
THE LOS ANGELES AREA REGIONAL AGENCY (LARA)
AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF $4388.78 FOR
THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE FOR FISCAL YEAR
2003-2004
WHEREAS, On September 17, 2002, the City of Lynwood joined Los Angeles
Area Agency (LARA) in order to improve the City's solid waste diversion required by the
Califomia Integrated Waste Management Board's, AB939 mandate; and
WHEREAS, in January of 2004, Califomia Integrated Waste Management Board
officially accepted LARA; and
WHEREAS, LARA presently consist of (14) fourteen cities within the Los
Angeles Region; and
WHEREAS, LARA requires member cities to designate voting members to vote
on LARA related issues; and
WHEREAS, LARA requires members to pay an annual membership fee; and
WHEREAS, the annual membership fee for the City of Lynwood is $4,388.78
for Fiscal Year 2003-2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows: ·
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to designate voting
members for the Los Angeles Area Integrated Waste Management Authority of the Los Angeles
Area Regional Agency (LARA).
Section 2. That the City Council approve the payment of the City of Lynwood's
annual membership fee of $4388.78 for Fiscal Year 2003-2004.
Section 3. That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to make the
following fund appropriation and transfer:

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
