A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTINUE INTERIM USE OF
RAUL'S TOWING SERVICE TO TOW AND STORE ABANDONED
VEHICHLES AT NO CHARGE TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
WHEREAS, on May 10, 2004, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
rescinded Resolution Numbers 2002.155, 2002.168 relating to the exclusive tow provider
service provided to the City of Lynwood by Raul's Towing Service; and
WHEREAS, on May 10, 2004, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
determined that a Request for Proposal for towing services was required in order to
explore new arrangements for the towing of vehicles in the City; and
WHEREAS, on May 10, 2004, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
acknowledged the City's need for an interim vehicle towing and storage service provider
during the selection process; and,
WHEREAS, in order to preserve uninterrupted service to the City, the City
Council of the City of Lynwood by minute order authorized the City Manager to use
Raul's Towing Service as the interim provider of vehicle towing and storage service to
the City of Lynwood, provided that such services were provided at no charge to the City
of Lynwood.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Manager of the City of Lynwood, or his/her designee is
authorized to utilize Raul's Towing Service to provide interim vehicle towing and storage
services to the City of Lynwood until a new provider is selected, provided that such
services shall be provided at no cost to the City of Lynwood.
Section 2. The City Manager of the City of Lynwood, or his/her designee is
authorized to explore other alternatives for the interim provisions of vehicle towing and
storage services to Lynwood at no charge to the City.
Section 3: That this Resolution is to be given effect immediately upon adoption.
