A RESOLUTZON OF THE LYNWOOD CTTY
COUNCTL AUTHORZZZNG A EMERGENCY
FUNDZNG TRANSFER OF $150,000 FROM THE
GENERAL FUND TO ACCOUNT 01-4662-4220
(PROF. & CONTRACTUAL SERVZCES) TO PAY
MELAD & ASSOCZATES FOR BUZLDZNG PLAN
CHECK AND ZNSPECTZON SERVZCES.
WHEREAS, Melad and Associates has provided building plan check and building
inspection services to the City of Lynwood since 1984; and
WHEREAS, other consulting firms providing building plan check and inspection
services charge more and/or provide lesser experience building inspectors; and
WHEREAS, building plan checkers and inspectors currently provided by Melad
and Associates have extensive experience and have provided excellent service; and
WHEREAS, building constructions and redevelopment project activity has
increased dramatically the last year and previous forecasts did not anticipate such
growth; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood, due to budget shortfall, has not paid Melad &
Associates since December 2003; and
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the
City Manager or his designee to execute all necessary financial activities relative to this
resolution.
,Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the
transferring $150,000.00 as follows:
Transfer $150,000 from the Unappropriated General Fund
Transfer to Fund 01-4662-4220
adoption.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 27th day of I~lav, 2004.
