City of Tiffin Resolution 2012 -49
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
ADMINISTRATOR/CLERK TO SIGN CONTRACT FOR WATER TOWER TO
MAGUIRE IRON, INC.
Whereas, the contract for the construction of the water tower has been awarded to Maguire Iron,
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa.
That the City Administrator /Clerk, with the assistance of the Consulting Engineer is thereafter
directed to examine the contract for proper execution and all supporting documents, including surety
bonds and proof of insurance coverage, to determine satisfactory compliance with contract specifications.
If all documents are in order the City Administrator /Clerk shall approve the same in writing and place
written approval on file in the office of the City Administrator /Clerk.
That the Mayor and City Administrator /Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to
execute the contract for and on behalf of the City and upon execution the contract shall be in full force
and effect.
ON THE 26th day of September, 2012, at a special meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
ADMINISTRATOR/CLERK TO SIGN CONTRACT FOR WATER TOWER TO MAGUIRE
IRON, INC., and made a motion for approval. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Bartels.
Ayes: Ryan, Bartels, Upton
Nays: none
Motion carried.
WHEREUPON, the Mayor declared that the A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CLERK TO SIGN CONTRACT FOR WATER TOWER TO
MAGUIRE IRON, INC., be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature
hereto.
PASSED, by the Council on the 26th day of September 2012, and approved by the Mayor on the 26th day
of September 2012.
