A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AWARDING A CONTRACT TO CHARLES
ABBOTT ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE ASSESSMENT
ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE LANDSCAPE AND
STREET LIGHTING ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS FY 2004-05
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE
AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council on May 18, 2004, approved the Engineer's
reports for" the Landscape and Street Lighting Assessment Districts FY 2004-05 and
adopted reolutions declaring its intention to order the levy and collection of
assessments; and
WHEREAS, said Engineer's reports recommended a rate increase to the
current rates of the districts, which requires approval from property owners of record
through a voting process; and
WHEREAS, such voting process requires specific up-to-date information
to be included in voting ballots within specific time frames; and
WHEREAS, Charles Abbott Associates, Inc. (CAA) has been providing
assessment engineering services to the City for more than fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, this firm possesses the expertise and experience in this field
and is familiar with the required voting process; and
for $36,400. WHEREAS, CAA has proposed to provide the above-mentioned services
WHEREAS, staff has found the proposed fees to be reasonable and can
be absorbed equally by the two districts.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby resolve .,order, and
determine as follows:
_Section 1. The City Council award a contract in an amount of $36,400 to
Charles Abbott Associates, Inc. for the assessment engineering services for the
Landscape and Street Lighting Assessment Districts FY 2004-05 and authorizing the
Mayor to execute the contract agreement.
.Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
