A special meeting of Town Council was held today at 5 PM
in the Council Room and was attended by Mayor Dutton, who pre-
sided, Councilmen peters, Brown, Meddin, Hosti, Town Attorney
Solms and Chief McCutchen.
The meeting was called for the purpose of:
1- Adopting a Resolution accepting a strip of land known
as parcel A, located between 14th and 15th Streets on the Strand.
2- Change the hour for attending regular meetings of
Council from 4 to g P. M.0

85 It was moved, seconded and passed that the following 85
Resolution be adopted.
A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Seaview Development Company, Inc. is the
owner in fee simple of a parcel of land known as parcel "A",
which is more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at a concrete monument on the Southeast
corner of Butler Avenue and 14th Street; thence, along the
South property line of 14th Street South 69° 30' East a dis-
tance of 587.7 feet to a point which is the point of beginning
of parcel "A "; thence, along the southern boundary line of 14th
Street South_69 °30' East 12.3 feet to a railroad spike; thence,
South 19 °25' West 483.6 feet to a railroad spike on the northern
property line of 15th Street North 69° 30' West 15.0 to a point
on the southern property line of 14th Street and the point of
beginning, comprising in all .15 ac res; as shown on that certain
Map of a re- subdivision of Beach Lots 85 to 90, both inclusive,
and the Extensions thereof, in Ward 4, Town of Savannah Beach,
made by Thomas and Hutton, Engineers, on May 29, 1951, and re-
corded in the records of Chatham County, Georgia.
WHEREAS, the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, has
an easement and /or right -of -way in a parcel of land which lies
immediately west of the above and foregoing described property;
and,
WHEREAS, the said easement and /or right -of -way arose under
an agreement between the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island,
and a Predecessor in title to Seaview Development. Company, Inc.
in these said lands; and,,
WHEREAS, the Seaview Development Company, Inc. now pro-
poses to convey to the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island,
fee simple title in the said parcel "A ", more fully described
above, in return for a cancellation Qf,the agreement between
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and the Predecessor in title to
the Seaview Development Company, Inc. in which the said easement
and /or righ -of -way, hereinabove mentioned, was created.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen
of. Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, that the Municipality accept fee
simple title in and, to the said described parcel-"A" and in re-
turn therefor that the said agreement between the_Municipality and
the Predecessor in title to the Seaview Development Company, Inc.
by which the easement and /or right -of -way was created, be and the
same, is hereby cancelled and declared null and void in considera-
tion of the conveyance to the Municipality of the said parcel "A".

It was moved, seconded and passed that the hour of
the regular meeting of Council be changed from 4 p. M. to g P. M.
during the summer-season.
There being no further business Council adjourned,
subject to the call of the Mayor.

The regular meeting of Town Council was held tonight
at 8 P. M. in the Council Room and was attended by Mayor Dutton,
who presided, Councilmen Peters, Brown, Lovell, Meddim,.Town Attor-
ney Solms, Shpt. Reed, Chief MoCutchen, Mr. J. W. Lang and Mr. Mel -
vin Hiers.
Supt. Reed stated that there was several pieces of sur-
plus property, 1- A 6 Cylinder Motor (Continental) 2- A Vibrator,
he suggested that they be sold, he was instructed to contact Mr.
J. J. Hutton relative to disposing of these items.
Mr. Reed stated that in connection with the proposed
1§111y the Town, of a water main down 15th Street to furnish
water to the cottages formerly owned by Hotel Tybee that at the
present time a main is already there, which is owned by the Hotel,
he suggested that the Town acquire this main from them. Council
Mr. Melvin Hiers protested against the erecting of a
building on property adjacent to his Lot , Ward 4, as being
to close to the building line. Mr. Lang stated that the building
is 32' wide, and attached to it is a 11' 811 car port, then the
eaves extend out an additional 2', Mr. Hiers stated that he pro-
tested against this when the foundations were poured. After some
discussion the Mayor ordered that the owner of the property as
well as his contractor be placed on the docket for violating the
building code.
Mr. Reed asked what was to be done as regards Mr. A. P.
Solomon moving away from the property formerly occupied by him
on Butler Avenue & 2nd street, he stated that apparentyly electri-
cal fixtures had been removed from the buildings and that a pipe
rack, comparator, and ch3Orinator were missing, also plumbing
fixtures and a switch box had been removed by Mr. J. W. Rentiers
under orders of Mr. Solomon, also that he had been using the
Town's electrical service for about four months. Councilman
