AUTHORZZZNG THE CI"rY'S PARTZCI'PATZON WI'I'H THE DZSTRI'CT
A'n'ORNEY'S OFFI'CE TN THE 3UVENi'LE ACCOUNTABI'LTrY BLOCK GRANT AND
AUTHORZZI'NG THE CI"I'Y MANAGER TO Si'GN THE WAZVER OF DI'RECT
SUBGRANT AWARD FROM UNZ'I' OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT
WHEREA~, The Fiscal-Year 2004 Omnibus Appropriations Act allocates funding
for states and units of local government through the ,1uvenile Accountability Block Grant
(,1ABG) to promote greater accountability of juveniles in the justice system; and
WHERE_AS, The State of California determines funding eligibility for local
governments based upon a combination of law enforcement expenditures and the
average number of Part ! crimes reported and has determined the allocation for the City
of Lynwood for the period of .luly 1, 2004 to ,tune 30, 2005 is $16,667; and
WHEREAS, Since the City became eligible to receive funding under .1ABG in
1999, the city has utilized its allocation to partner with the Los Angeles County District
Attorney's Office by participating in the Special Projects prosecution program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood desires to continue this partnership with the
District Attorney's Office for the .1ABG program year six.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CZTY COUNCI'L OF THE CI"rY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY Fl'ND, PROCLAZM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
~ The City Manager or her designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
S~ion 2, That the City Manager is authorized to sign the attached ,1ABG
2004 Waiver of Direct Subgrant Award from Unit of Local Government transferring
award funds in the amount of $16,667 to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's
Office.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
