A RESOLUTION OF THE CiTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED CONTRACT
WITH THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lynwood is desirous of creating and
maintaining a safe community; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood's contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department expired on June 30, 2004; and
WHEREAS, The City desires to maintain continuous law enforcement services to
the community; and ~
WHEREAS, Sufficient funding to continue the current basic law enforcement
service is included as part of the adopted FY 03/05 biennial budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Manager or her designee is authorized to carry out any
necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 2. That the Council authorize the Mayor to sign the attached five-year
contract.
Section 3. That the Council authorize the City Manager to sign the Service
Level Authorization Form SH-AD 575 and to negotiate a new deployment with the Sheriff's
Department.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
