Minutes of regular meeting of January 2,1962 were read, motion by Winterhalter to accept minutes as read, second by A Gertz, motion carried. Final plat of Medina Mormmngside, 1st addition was presented to the council, motion by Herb Arens to seat the sum of $650.00 to be held for completion of streets, second by Arthur Gertz, motion carried. Motion by Herb Arens to accept Medina I4oringside, 1st addition plat, to be signed as soon as check for $400.00 is recieved, second by Arthur Gertz, motion carried. Motion iby Herb Arens to grant Harold Hanson a permit to move in John Cowles house, provided he obtains George Piper signature on petition, second by Harold Winterhalter, motion carried. Motion by H. Winderhalter to authorized village attorney to render opinion on Herb Gasper garden cliaim, second by Arthur Gertz, motion carried. Herbert Gaspar tendered his resignation from the planning commission. Motion by Herb Arens to accept Herbert Gaspars resignation with regret, second by Arthur Gertz, motion carried. Motion by Arthur Gertz to accept Alex Schumachers resignation from the planning commission with regret, second by Herb Arens, motion carried. The two vacancys on the planning commission will be filled at the next council meeting if possible. The Village attorney will be asked killx for advise on the Steinke basement bond matter. Letter from Mrs Charles Crosby in regard changing the name of the Luby road to Mooney Lake road was read. Motion by Arthur Gertz to appoint Robert Roehl and Robert Scott to the police committee, second by Herb Arens, motion carried. Motion by Harold Winterhalter to set Eivel Defense directors fee at $25.00 per month, second by Herb Arens, motion carried. Motion by Harold Winterhalter to set secretarial help salary at 92.00 per month, second by Herb Arneas, motion carried. Rita Van Bloun was hired to take the minutes at council meetings and do secretarial work for the village. Forrest Stemmler appaeaded before the council reguesting action by the council on the VFW building permit action. The question was placed on the agenda for the next council meeting. Leo Leuer reported that he had plowed out an evergreen tree on the Wm Botnan property. Wri.gh Hennepin Coop electric Assn presented an ordinance to grant a franchise to operate in the Village of Medina, the council tabled action until the Village attorney had looked this over.
