A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE AGREEMENT FOR THE TRUCK IMPACT INTERSECTION
PROJECT W/TH GATEWAY CITIES COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO
MAKE THE NECESSARY FUNDS APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER
WHEREAS, the Gateway Cities Council of Governments (COG), through the use
of County, State and Federal Governments funds has initiated the Gateway Cities truck
Impact Intersections Project; and
WHEREAS, said project is to improve truck traffic circulation and mitigate truck
impacts on qualified intersections within the Gateway Cities; and
WHEREAS, participating local agencies are required to execute the cooperative
agreement with COG and pay their 10% matching funds; and
WHEREAS, the intersection of Imperial Highway and Martin Luther King Jr.
Boulevard is heavily impacted by truck traffic and qualified to be included in this project;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous to participate in this project to improve
said intersection; and
WHEREAS, the total project cost has been estimated at $60,000, which includes
the required 10% matching funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the Cooperative Agreement
for the Gateway Cities Truck Impact Intersections Project with the Gateway Cities
Council of Governments.
SECTION 2. That the city Manager or his designee is authorized to make the
following funds appropriation and transfer:

SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
