AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE UTAH CODE FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION IN NEW
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION BY AMENDING CHAPTER 5, BUILDINGS, MOAB CITY CODE,
1965, AS AMENDED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOAB, UTAH: That
Chapter 5, Buildings of the Ordinances of Moab City, 1965, as amended by,
and the same is, hereby amended by adding a new chapter No. 5A.
"Chapter 5A-1 Utah Code for Engergy Conservation in New Building
Construction Section 5A-1 Energy Conservation Code --adopted:
That certain code dealing specifically with energy conservation
that applies to the design, construction, and modification of any
buildings requiring a building permit, as mandated by the Utah State
Legislature, entitled "Utah Code for Energy Conservation New Building
Construction," 1977 Edition, printed as a code in book form, adopted
by the Utah State Building Board is hereby adopted as the Energy
Conservation Code for the City of Moab, and by this reference is made
a part of this Chapter to the same extent of the "Utah Code For Engergy
Conservation in New Building Construction,"is hereby confirmed and
approved."
Section 5A-2 Organization and Enforcement
"The organization and enforcement of the Utah Code For Energy
Conservation in New Building Construction shall be administered by the
Building Department and be under the enforcement of the Building Official
as defined in Chapter 2, of the Uniform Building Code under Chapter 5
of the Moab City Code."
THAT the City Council finds and declares that it is necessary for
the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of this City
that this Ordinance take effect on January 1, 1978.
PASSED by the unanimous vote of all members present of the City
Council of the City of Moab, Utah, this 6th day of December, 1977.
