AN ORDINANCE, making an appropriation of Six Million Dollars
($6,000,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for combined sewer construction
in Baden Cityshed Mitigation Basins (Calvary, Frederick, Partridge and Tillie) (13232) in the City
of St. Louis, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf
of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 21907 with J. H. Berra
Construction Co., Inc. for combined sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said combined sewer construction is Seven Million Nine
Hundred Forty -Seven Thousand Eighty -Seven Dollars ($7,947,087.00) and the allowance for
construction change orders and other project expenses is One Millio n Fifty -Two Thousand Nine
Hundred Thirteen Dollars ($1,052 ,913.00);
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation request is planned for Fiscal Year 2021
(FY2021) for a total appropriation amount of Nine Million Dollars ($9 ,000,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Six Million Dollars ($6,000,000.00) is hereby
appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for combined sewer construction in Baden
Cityshed Mitigation Basins (Calvary, Frederick, Partridge and Tillie) (13232) in the City of St.
Louis, Missouri; and said contract shall be comprised of such other terms and conditions as are
approved by the Office of the General Counsel of the District.
Sectio n Two . The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 21907
with J. H. Berra Construction Co., Inc., as the lowest responsible proposer for combined sewer
construction in Baden Cityshed Mitigation Basins (Calvary, Frederick, Partridge and Tillie)
(13232) in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 1 6 th day of April, 2020.
Section Three . This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted on June 11, 2020.
