AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING WOODLAWN
AVENUE RIGHT-OF-WAY BETWEEN MADISON STREET AND MONROE STREET, WITH
ASSOCIATED ALLEYWAY(S).
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it necessary,
reasonable and proper to discontinue and forever vacate the following public right-of-way,
finding the following described right-of-way surplus property of the City and no longer needed
for any public purpose:
ALL of the WOODLAWN AVENUE right-of-way, lying between Madison Street
and Monroe Street in the City of Jefferson, County of Cole, Missouri.
Above description represented on ATTACHMENT A.
ALSO, two (2) ten (10) ft. wide alleyways located within Outlot No. 77 of the City
of Jefferson, County of Cole, Missouri, more particularly identified as follows:
ALLEY 1
All of an unimproved ten (10) ft. wide alleyway lying northerly of and
running more or less parallel to WOODLAWN AVENUE (as vacated by
this ordinance), and being more particularly shown and depicted on
ATTACHMENT A and ATTACHMENT B.
ALLEY 2
A portion of an unimproved ten (10) ft. wide alleyway lying westerly of and
running more or less parallel to MONROE STREET, and being more
particularly shown and depicted on ATTACHMENT A and ATTACHMENT
B.
Section 2. All that portion of the above vacated right-of-way described in Section 1 is
hereby relinquished, and the City does hereby release and abandon whatever interest it has in
the right-of-way(s); except that for ALLEY 2, easement rights for sanitary sewer purposes shall be
retained until such time that the existing main is abandoned. The statutory rights of reversion for the
owners of the abutting properties are hereby confirmed, as provided by the laws of the State of
Missouri.

Section 3. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute any
necessary legal documents required to confirm the relinquishment of the City's interest in the
tract(s) described in Section 1, and confirming the reversionary rights of the owners of the
properties abutting the area(s) being vacated as described in Section 1.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage and ap-proval.
