ORDINANCE NO. 67 -249
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8302 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY RELATING TO PLUMBING
PERMIT FEES AND ADDING SECTION 8302.1 AND 8302.2
RELATING TO PLAN CHECKING FEES AND EXEMPTIONS
The City Council of the City of Temple City does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Table I of Section 59 of Ordinance No. 2269 of
the County of Los Angeles, entitled "Plumbing Code ", adopted by
Section 8302 of the Temple City Municipal Code on March 12, 1962,
is amended to read:
8302. TABLE OF FEES:
TABLE No. I
For issuing each permit $2.00
In addition:
For each plumbing fixture or trap or set of fixtures on
one trap (including drainage, vent, water piping and
backflow prevention devices therefor) 1.50
For each permanent type dishwasher whether individually
trapped or not 1.25
For each industrial waste pretreatment interceptor
including its trap and vent, excepting kitchen type
grease interceptors functioning as fixture traps 2.00
For each swimming pool drainage trap and receptor
whether connected to a building drain or a building
sewer (water supply for pool not included 1.50
For each gas piping system of one (1) to five (5) outlets
or alteration or retest or existing gas piping system. . . 1.50
For each additional outlet over five (5) .30
For each gas pressure regulator other than appliance
regulators .30
For each water heater and /or vent 1.50
For repair or alteration of drainage and /or vent piping. 1.50
For each piece of water treating equipment and /or water
piping installed without accompanying plumbing 1.50
For lawn sprinkler systems on any one meter including
backflow prevention devices therefor 2 00
For backflow prevention devices on unprotected water
supplies, pools, tanks, vats, etc. (including
incidental water piping) one to five 1.50
For each additional device over five (5) .30

SECTION 2. Section 60 of Article 3 of said Ordinance No.
2269 is amended by adding Section 8302.1 to read ad follows:
8302.1 PLAN CHECK FEES:
Plans and specifications shall be submitted and approved prior
to the commencement of any work described in this section.
A plan checking fee shall be paid to the Chief Plumbing In-
spector at the time of submitting the plans and specifications for
work described in this Section. Said fee shall be equal to one -
fourth (1/4) the required plumbing permit fee as set forth in
Table I of this Article.
All plan checking fees shall be based on the aggregate quanti-
ties required for the complete project:
a) Building or premises containing over 180 drainage
fixture units.
b) Building or premises with a potable water supply
4" or larger.
c) Building or premises with fuel gas piping 4" or
larger or containing medium or high pressure fuel
gas.
SECTION 3. Article 3 of said Ordinance No. 2269 is amended
by adding Section 8302.2 to read as follows:
Section 66. EXEMPTION FROM FEE.
The requirements for fees contained in this Article shall not
apply when the collection of such fees is legally prohibited by other
statutes.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the City of Temple City shall
certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and to its
approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same to be published in
the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Temple City.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of October, 1967.

certify that the foregoing Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 67 -248, was
introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Temple City, held on the 19th day of September, 1967, and was duly
passed, approved and adopted by said Council, approved and signed by
the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk at a regular meeting of the
City Council held on the 3rd day of October , 1967, by the following
vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Harker, Merritt, Tyrell, Beckley
NOES: Councilmen- None
