2014 "Shop with a Cop" Program

This year's annual Plainfield Police Department "Shop with a Cop" program was a
HUGE success!
In a partnership between the Plainfield Police Department, Plainfield School District
#202, Oswego School District #308, Plainfield Junior Women's Club, TARGET, several other
local businesses as well as private donors, the program was able to raise over $10,000 to
assist 37 local school aged children and their families in having a happy holiday season.
Several Plainfield Police Officers and village employees gathered with the students on
Friday December 19th at the Plainfield TARGET. The Officers assisted the students in finding
and purchasing gifts for their families while the other employees along with the Plainfield Junior
Women's club completed the shopping spree by wrapping the presents and making them
ready to place under the Christmas tree.
This program is an annual event that allows the Police Department the opportunity to
develop a stronger relationship with the community they serve and protect on a daily basis.
