HomeMy Public PortalAbout1993-04 LPA Urging the governor to consider the request for funding of a Public Works ProjectVI GE ATTORNEY RESOLUTION NO. 93-4 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; URGING THE GOVERNOR TO CONSIDER THE REQUEST OF THE VILLAGE FOR FUNDING OF A PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $450,000.00; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL, ACTING AS THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY, OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Village Manager has submitted a request for a $450,000.00 grant to alleviate a severe drainage problem in the Holiday Colony subdivision of the Village; and WHEREAS, the Holiday Colony subdivision was severely damaged by Hurricane Andrew from flooding and winds; and WHEREAS, this is the main access to the Sonesta Beach Resort, the largest employer and hotel on Key Biscayne; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL, ACTING AS THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY, OF KEY BISCAYNE THAT: Section 1. The application submitted by the Village Manager dated December 31, 1992 is hereby reaffirmed and the governor is strongly urged to provide the requested funding. Section 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED BY A UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL, ACTING AS THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY, THIS 19th DAY OF January , 1993.
