*REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA
FEBRUARY 7,1961.
Meeting called to order by Layor Scout at $ PM.
All council :members were present.
Minutes of Regular meeting of January 3,1961 were read.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to accept minutes as read,
second by Hebbert Arens, Motion carried.
Minutes of Special meeting of January 17,1961 were read.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to accept minutes as read,
Second by Herbert Arens, Motion carried.
Harold Winterhalter reported on the results of his
correspondence with other villages concerrAng the Village
Attorney. A lengthy discussion followed, with comments f
from several citizens as tb the advisabilty of appointing
Attorney Hedlund as Village attorney.
Motion by Arthur Gertz to defer appointment of a Village
Attorney, and to call in attorneys for interviews and deciede�
from these interviews which attorney to appoint, Second by
Robert Roehl, Motion carried.
Lotion by Harold Winterhalter to add to the agenda dadiscussion
of the necessary qualifications, fees expected, time of inter-
view, submission of names for the postition of Village Attorney.
Second by Robert Roehl, motion carried.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to appoint William Raymond, Hamel,
Minnesota Civel Defense Director, Second by Arthur Gertz,
Motion carried.
Motion by Robert Roehl to restrict the following roadsto 4 tons
axel weight- $7 from County Road 24 to South Village line and
Village Road Number Nine. Second by Harold Winterhalter,
Motion Carried.
Motion by Hebbert Arens to adopt Resolution on Building it
inspection as recommended by Planning Commission, Second by
Harold Winterhalter, Potion carried.
Lotion by Herbert Arens to appoint Alfred merz, Gerald Dykhoff,
and Robert Roehl to the building committee, Second by Harold
Winterhalter, Motion Carried.
A discussion on road projects was held. The road committee
will secure estimates of cost of fixing the curvet by the cemetary
on htlat # 9 and that part of 87 South of County Road ## 24. It
was decieded to send the matter of surveying Road # $$ North of
Road ## 4$ to the planning commission.
Motion by Herbert Arens to adopt Resolution favoring re -apportionment
in Hennepin County, Second by Harold Winterhalter, Motion Carried.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to appoint Leon Warner, Willis
Kohnen, Herbert Perry, Robert Scott and Robert Roehl to the
Tax Committee, Second by Arther Gertz, Motion Carried.
Motion by Arthur Gertz to appoint Kenneth Dayton, Charles Pieason .
Alfred PMerz, M. L. Scheref and Harold Winterhalter to the
Industrial Committee, Second by Herbert Arens, motion carried.
Motion by Robert Roehl to appoint Fars Lambert Berry, Paul Fortin
and Joseph Raskob to the Telephone committee.
Robert Roehl was appointed as council representative to the
Northwest Subturban Chamber of Commerce.
Village Insurance needs were discussed and it was decieded to
get bids from various agents.
Arthur Gertz moved the Adoption of Resolution releasing tax
forfieted lands, the vote on the motion was 5 Nays and No Ayes.
Reciepts 0132.95 Order checks issued a79.07. Payroll checks
issued 4434.50.
Motion by Arthur Gertz to adjourn this meeting until February
21, 1961 at 8 PM. Second by Harold Winterhalter, motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 11.45 PL.

Adjourned MEETING OF FEBRUARY 7,1961 of VILLAGE, COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 21,1961.
Discussion was held on appointing a Village Attorney, the
Clerk presented names of two attornexys, John M. Miller
and Allan T Quello, these attorneys had contacted kim the
clerk and were interested in the position.
IL'iiotion by Arthur Gertz to set aside his previous motion to
interview Attorneys, Second by Herbert Arens, Motion Carried.
IMlotion by Herbert Arens to appoint George Hedlund Village
Attorney for the year 1961, Second by Harold Winterhalter,
motion carried. Vote on Motion was as follows, Arens, Gertz,
Scott and Winterhalter Yes,ttoehl, No.
A discussion on a dog control ordinance was held, action on
this was defErred untill opions from the residents could
bg heard.
Insurance for Village was discussed, there were no bids
presented at this time.
Letter from Leo Feser commending road maintance was read.
Letter from Liqour control commissioner was read.
Motion by Arthur Gertz, second by Herb Arens to adjourn.
Meeting adjourned at ]x 10.30 FL.
