SUBJECT: Update - Removal of Right Turn (South Bound) Restriction — Collins Avenue and Harbour Way
(West)
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform you that right turn on red at the Collins Avenue (south
bound) and Harbour Way west is now allowed.
As you may recall, on February 10, 2014, Chief Overton met with representatives with FDOT to discuss the
feasibility of removing the restriction of right turn on red at this intersection, and to explain its impacts on traffic flow
and public safety efforts. Upon the conclusion of the meeting, it was determined that the restriction could be lifted
without any impact to the public safety.
The signage indicating no turn on red has been removed and we expect that this change will facilitate the
movement of traffic into the Village's single family residential area.
