Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present. Minutes of the previous meeting of January 3, 1967 read. Moved by Arthur Theis that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Mr. C. W. Phillips and Mr. Eklund appeared with regard to the road across the railroad track to the Dineen property being purchased by Mr. Eklund and Mr. Tweed. They are to submit a new map showing location of rogd. Applications for Cigarette licenses for the year 1967 were sub- mitt4d for the following: Gladys B. Vollmer of the Glad -Mar Cafe, Robert I. Feser of the Medina Golf Course, Ralph J. Schlosser of Medina Independent 011 Co., Indo, Jamie Falde of the "55 Superettr, , Beverly Pettit of the "55 Club" and C. W. Yates of Yates Mobil Service. Moved by Raymond Bosch that we grant Cigarette License to the six above applicants for the year 1967. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. Arthur Theis submitted the contract with the Hennepin County Suburban Relief Board. Moved by Arthur Theis that we enter into the contract with the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board for the year 1967. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried.(Vote taken - 5 "yes" votes -no "nay" votesJ1 Letter and maps from State Highway Department with regard to Highway ,#12 presented. Moved by Harold Winterhalter to refer the Highway #12 maps to the tillage engineer with full power to negotiate with Highway Department as necessary. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Hopf property platting fee discussed. Clerk instructed to write Robert Scott and bill him for $150.00 for platting fee for the above property. Gave date of Sanitary sewer meeting as follows: Thursday February 9, 1967, social hour 5:30,,dinner 6:45, at Thunderbird Motel. Letter from Donald E. Fossedal thahking Village for the good condition of the roads this winter. 28 Letter from George C. Gubbins, Jr., village attorney, with regard to the railroad crossing over the Soo Line tracks to the Dineen property. Letter also gave opinion that the village treasurer could work on road maintenance crew and receive pay for same. Letter from Hennepin County Park Reserve District stating that they are giving the matter of policing service for the year 1967 their attention and will advise us. Letter from the Board of Hennepin County Commissioners, thanking Mayor Neddermey§r for his letter of January 22nd with regard to the acquisition of land by the Park Board in the Village of Medina. Bids for grading roads. Moved by Rayburn Anderson to contact Mr. Mills to advertise and ;prepare bid forms for grading in the summer of 1967, the bids to be opened at the.meetingā€˜of March 7, 1967 at 8 o'clock. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried. 1\^V Harold Winterhalter brought up the matter of snow accumulation in % the business district of Hamel. Discussion as to ways and means to tkke care of this. Moved by Harold Winterhalter to enter in6o an agreement whereby t r . the village snowplow Priscilla Arens' driveway at a charge of °'F"3,00 per month for the remaining three months this year and 3.00 per month for six months a year hereafter. Seconded by Rayburn Anderson. Motion carried. Harold Winterhalter reported Village could receive up to 75% of cost of cleaning up lakes in Village provided there was a public access to lakes. He will bring further information to next meeting. Moved by Harold Winterhalter that we pay the bills as follows: Payroll in the amount of $2037.26 and order checks in the amount of $3121.56. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Moved by Raymond Bosch to have a special meeting on Wednesday, February 15, 1967 at 8:00 P. M. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried. Moved by Harold Winterhalter to buy a new typewriter at a cost of $212.50 as set forth in the letter of the Harris Office Equipment Company dated January 18, 1967. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Harold Winterhalter. Motion carried. Meeting ad ourned at 10:15 P.M. Attest: i clerk M..yor 29 The Council of the Village of Medina met in special session called by Police Chief Raymond Bosch for theftarpose of discussing police matters on Tuesday evening, February '21, 1967 at 8Y15 P. M. Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk Raymond Bosch gave a resume of the work done by the policemen the schedule settup for this year, number of hours spent in actual hours in the patrol car and number of hours spent on paper work - also the program set up for the part time patrolmen. It is the consensus of the Council that the police department is doing a very commendable JO. Moved by Raymond Bosch that we authorize Bud, Jerry and Chuck to attend the classes at the Third Annual Trauma Workshop at North Memorial Hospital on April 13 1 14 and 15th, the Village to pay the cost. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Moved by Rayburn Anderson that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Arthur Theis. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:55 P. N. A11 members of Council present.
