LETTER TO COUNCIL
SUBJECT: Bal Harbour Village Building Department— Permit File Maintenance
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform you that commencing on Friday, May 2, 2014, the Bal
Harbour Village Building Department will conduct permit file maintenance.
Recently, I have assigned personnel to work with CAP Government Inc. representatives to assess the efficiency of
the Village's building development process, and provide recommendations to improve service delivery. As a result
of this process, one of the initial findings is the need to update permit files for expired permits as required by the
Florida Building Code.
Due to the volume of expired permits that require research and review, the Building Department will be closed to
the public from 11 AM to 3 PM on the following dates:
• Friday, May 2, 2014
• Friday, May 9, 2014
• Friday, May 16, 2014
During the closings, inspections will take place and there will be no interruption in field service.
In order to inform all stakeholders, the Village Administration will notify Condominium Building Managers, active
permit holders, as well as the general public via various channels of communication available to the Village. The
notification process will include a notice on the Village's channel 77, the Village website, the Village Hall Bulletin
Board, direct mail flyers, social media and e-mail notification to available addresses.
