HomeMy Public PortalAbout1997-12 Worker's CompensationC - _ Ij ORDINANCE 1997 -12 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PERSONNEL POLICIES REGARDING WORKER'S COMPENSATION WHEREAS the present personnel policy provides that in event an employee of the City of Greencastle, including employees of the police and fire departments is receiving worker's compensation, said employee is considered to be "inactive" and WHEREAS "inactive" employees do not accrue either vacation or sick pay and; WHEREAS it is the desire of the City that if an employee is injured in the line of duty that said employee should not lose vacation or sick leave; NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle that in the event an employee has a job - related injury for which he is entitled to receive worker's compensation such employee shall continue to accrue vacation and sick leave during such period.* This Ordinance shall become effective May 1, 1997. • PASSED AND ADO TED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana this ( G day of 1997.
