OVERTON Chief of Police FLA, Weekly Summary Report Week of: 01/09/15 - 01/15/15 Call for Service Reports Arrests Code Enforcement Traffic Enforcement Primary 111 Incident 45 Felony 1 Warning 5 Citation 25 Back Up Outside Jurisdiction 2 Crash 2 Misdemeanor 3 Notice 1 Warning 39 Parking 22 Total 113 Total 47 Total 4 Total 6 Total 86 Date Incident Arrest Location 01/12/15 Damage Property 96th St & Bal Bay Drive Security Gate Narrative Police were contacted after a resident discovered the surveillance camera to the entry gate at 96 St and Bal Bay Drive was hanging from the pole. A review of the surveillance footage determined the camera was damaged by a truck making a delivery to the Village Park. The delivery company was contacted and accepted full responsibility for the damages. The Driver was unaware of the damage to the camera. Date Incident/Arrest Location 01/12/15 Arrest/Theft Over 10295 Collins (Ritz Carlton) Narrative An investigative follow-up to the case last week, in which a guest at the Ritz Carton dropped a black pouch containing $9500.00 in US Currency. The subject was identified to be a Valet Attendant at the Ritz Carlton. He was observed by video footage picking up the black pouch. The subject never made any attempt to alert the guest of the dropped purse. The subject was identified via hotel surveillance cameras and arrested. The arrestee subsequently returned the $7500.00 cash on 1/12/15 and the remaining $2000.00 on 1/13/15 when he returned the TV he had purchased with the money. The victim was contacted and money will be returned on 1/23/15 when the victim returns to Bal Harbour Village. Date Incident/Arrest Location 01/13/15 Vehicle Burglary 9700 Collins Bal Harbour Shops Narrative A guest parked in the Blue area of the shops. The guest left behind several shopping bags in her vehicle with merchandise previously purchased at Aventura Mall. Upon returning, the guest discovered the bags missing. Inspection revealed a small puncture/indentation to the driver side door cylinder lock. The approximate total of the property taken was $7,000.00. BUS 01/14/15 Information STOP Narrative Complainant called police reference a Bicycle locked to a bus bench impeding pedestrian right of way. While conducting the investigation, the owner of the bike arrived at the scene. The owner was advised the shops have Bicycle Racks available. The bicycle was removed by the owner. Date Incident/Arrest Location 01/14/15 Burglary/Storage Container 10275 Collins Ave(Harbor House) Narrative Workers contacted police after they discovered the storage container was burglarized and several miscellaneous tools and power equipment were stolen. Surveillance footage revealed a light colored mini -van back up to the storage container on three different occasions, 2 males exited the van wearing construction vests walking in the area of the container. Note; the video does not capture the loading of the stolen items onto the van. North Miami Beach Police CSI processed the scene. In addition, the video footage was released to local media outlets in an attempt to generate a leads to the suspects identity. Date Incident Arrest Location 01/15/15 Theft & Resisting Arrest 10275 Collins Ave(Harbor House) Narrative Arrestee requested a taxi in Sunny Isles jurisdiction, upon arrival in Bal Harbour, the arrestee refused to pay the taxi fare. The arrestee exited the cab and walked away with his suitcase. Arrestee was located and detained by Lt. Amago and subsequently arrested. Date Incident/Arrest_ Location 01/15/2015 Arrest 10100 Block Collins Avenue Police received a request for assistance from Miami -Dade Transit due to an unruly passenger on their bus. OVERTON Chief of Police „ ��qo cE y�U FLA Date Incident/Arrest Location 01/10/15-01/14/15 Visibility/Village Familiarity Bal Harbor Village Narrative Lieutenants' Amago and Flowers commuted the area of the Village, Collins Avenue, and the Beach. During the familiarity and visibility detail, contact was made with numerous residents. Lieutenants Ama o and Flowers introduced themselves and provided their contact information to the residents.
