Date Incident/Arrest Location 01/30/15 Spear Fishing Arrest 10200 Collins Ave (Jetty) Narrative While patrolling the beach, a Bal Harbour Police officer noticed a dive flag within the swim buoys behind the Ritz Carlton Hotel by the jetty. The officer made contact with the swimmers who exited the water armed with spear guns. The swimmers were subsequently arrested and released on scene by Florida Fish and Wildlife Officer Washington. Date Incident Arrest Location 10295 Collins Ave Bal Harbour 02/01/15 Suspicious Object Jett Narrative A fisherman on the jetty removed a suspicious canister from the water with markings to contact Police or US Navy if found. Responding officers secured the area and canister until the arrival of the Miami Dade Police Bomb Squad. Upon inspection by the Bomb Squad, the canister contained a high volume of phosphorus. The Miami Dade Police Bomb Squad safely destroyed the canister. Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/03/15 Domestic Arrest 9700 Collins Ave (Makoto) Narrative Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Bal Harbour Shops regarding a verbal and physical dispute between a husband and wife. Further investigation revealed the husband battered the wife. The husband was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery. OVERTON Chief of Police '�FFice \ +tePaJ9y Gq t FLA _ Date Incident Arrest Location 10245 Collins Ave (Carlton 02/03/15 Suspicious Person Terrace Narrative Security summoned police regarding a white Hispanic male who had entered the property by jumping the rear gate. The male relayed to security he was assaulted by 3 males on the beach. While security was notifying police, the male fled the property by jumping the rear fence. Police responded and canvassed the entire beach area in an attempt to locate the suspicious person with negative results. This subject's actions were extremely suspicious be on the outlook bulletin issue to all officers on both shifts. Date Incident/Arrest Location 02/04/15 Theft 9600 Block / Beach An unknown male and female removed a purse from the beach. Victims, who were near the water, observed the subjects as they traveled west towards Collins Avenue. A witness observed the subjects and followed them until they entered a Black Nissan Altima which fled south on Harding Avenue.
