THE CITY OF BEL AIRE, KANSAS
ORDINANCE NO. ~I ~
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS BY PRESCRIBING THE SPEED LIMIT ON
A CERTAIN ROADWAY WITHIN THE CITY OF BEL
AIRE, KANSAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS:
Section 1.
Speed Limit on 45th Street North
The Governing Body having determined it in the best interest
of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Bel Aire,
Kansas that the speed limit permitted under Section 33 of the
Standard Traffic Ordinance is not reasonable under the conditions
found to exist upon the following streets within the corporate
limits of the City of Bel Aire, Kansas, hereby determines and
declares the following speed limits:
On 45th Street North from 50 feet East of the centerline
of Edgemoor Street west to 350 feet West of the
centerline of Edgemoor Street, the speed limit shall be
40 M.P.H. except on school days during the hours of 8:00
A.M. to 8:40 A.M. and 3:20 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. During the
hours of 8:00 A.M. to 8:40 A.M. and 3:20 P.M. to 4:00
P.M. on school days the speed limit on said street as
herein described shall be 20 M.P.H., such area to be
designated as a School Speed Zone.
Section 2.
Penalty
The penalty for any person found guilty of failing to obey the
declared speed limits on 45th Street North shall be provided in the
Uniform Traffic Code as adopted by the City of Bel Aire.
Section 3.
Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the official city newspaper.
