ORDINANCE NO. ~
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT IN LIEU OF PRESCRIBING A RATE OF TAXATION
AS PROVIDED BY K.S.A. 79-3109 (1980 Supp), THE CITY ELECT THAT NO TAX
SHALL BE LEVIED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CITY OF BEL-A IRE ON INTANGIBLES:
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION HEREOF: AND THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
Be It Ordained by the Governing Body of the City of Bel-Aire.
Section 1. In lieu of prescribing a rate of taxation as provided
for by K.S.A. 79-3109 (1980 Supp.), the Governing Body of the City of
Bel-Aire elects that no tax shall be levied for the benefit of such
city upon money, notes, and other evidence of debt having a tax situs
in the City of Bel-Aire for the year 1981 and each year thereafter.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be published once each week for
two consecutive weeks in the official publication of the City of
Bel-Aire.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect sixty-one (61) days
after final pUblication, unless a sufficient petition is filed and a
referandum held as provided by K.S.A. 79-3109 (1980 Supp.), in which
case this Ordinance shall become effective if approved by a majority
of the electors voting thereon.
