HomeMy Public PortalAbout1993-14 Urging County Commission to Amend Ordinance 93-14RESOLUTION NO. 93- 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; URGING THE DADE COUNTY COMMISSION TO AMEND ORDINANCE 93- 14; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, as a result of Hurricane Andrew, the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County passed and adopted Ordinance 93-14 on March 2, 1993; and WHEREAS, section 201.2(5) of said ordinance has set forth the new requirements for certification of structural plans examiners; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is effective May 2, 1993; and WHEREAS, as a result of the new requirements and effective date, a severe financial hardship will be created for municipalities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, .AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Village Council hereby urges the County Commission to amend Ordinance 93-14, Section 201.2(5), by delaying the effective date to October 1, 1993, and further review the impact and implications of this section on the operational capabilities of municipal building departments. Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to distribute copies of this resolution to members of the Dade County Commission. Section 3. This resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
