SUBJECT: Relay for Life Events Taking Place March 14-15, 2015 in Bal Harbour Village
This Letter to Council (LTC) is to provide you with details regarding the 6th Annual Surf-
Bal-Bay Relay for Life Events taking place on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March
15 to raise funds and awareness regarding cancer.
Saturday, March 14
Miami -Dade County Commissioner Sally Hayman will kick-off the opening ceremony
beginning at 3:00 p.m. The event will take place on the beach directly adjacent to the
96t Street beach entrance. In addition, students from Ruth K. Broad K-8 Education
Center will volunteer and perform; Zumba classes; Raffles of donated items which will
take place every hour; and Survivors/Caregivers relay laps. Below is the schedule of
events and attached is a flyer and diagram of the event's venue:

5:00 p.m. -

6:00 p.m. -

Sunday, March 15
Bal Harbour Village Relay for Life 5K walk/run beginning at 7:30 a.m. The run/walk will
cover 3.5 miles starting at 96th Street. The course will traverse the Collins Avenue
corridor and the beach path culminating at Bal Bay Drive in front of Bal Harbour Park.
